Season 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired from September 2000 to May 2001. It is the season that contains The Body, Fool for Love, and The Gift — three of the greatest television episodes ever made. The season introduces Dawn, Glory, and the Key mythology, and ends with Buffy’s death. It is the show’s high-water mark for emotional seriousness.
