Halloween. Dawn sneaks out with a friend to meet boys, one of whom is a vampire. Xander announces his engagement to Anya. Willow erases Tara’s memory of an argument without her knowledge. The engagement is genuinely good news. The memory erasure is quietly alarming. Dawn’s vampire date is the episode’s least important event, though it’s handled competently enough.
What Happens
Dawn lies to Buffy and goes to a Halloween party, meets Justin (Kavan Reece), who is a vampire, and nearly gets herself killed before Giles and Buffy find her. The vampire teenagers are dispatched. Dawn is grounded. Xander proposes and Anya accepts, and the scene is warm and real. Willow, after an argument with Tara about using too much magic, casts Lethe’s Bramble — a memory-altering herb — into the fireplace. Tara relaxes. The conflict is resolved. Tara doesn’t know why.
Key Moments
The proposal — Xander asking not with a prepared speech but with love, and Anya accepting with her characteristic directness. And the final moments: Willow’s erasure, staged quietly, almost as an afterthought. It is the first act of something that will break Tara’s trust completely.

Where It Fits
All the Way advances the Willow/Tara relationship toward its collapse and locks in Xander and Anya’s engagement. The Halloween wrapper is thin but the character work is the point.
