Sarah Michelle Gellar has posted a set of photos on Instagram from her time on the set of Netflix’s Do Revenge — and they’re the kind of thing that makes you very happy she went back to work.
The photos were ostensibly a birthday post for director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and they show Gellar with Robinson and co-star Maya Hawke (Stranger Things). In one promotional image, all four are posed in coordinated outfits. In a candid follow-up, Hawke is side-hugging Gellar — the height difference between them visible and endearing. In Gellar’s caption, she described the final image as “a true representation of how I look at you,” showing her looking up at Robinson with genuine admiration.
Do Revenge landed on Netflix in September 2022 to strong reviews and has earned something of a devoted following since. Casting Gellar alongside a newer generation of actors — Hawke among them — was one of its quietly brilliant decisions. Buffy and Robin Buckley, sharing a scene. Nobody predicted that twenty years ago, but here we are.
