Anthony Head’s Daughter Grew Up on the Buffy Set — and She’d Love a Spot in a Reboot

If you want to know what it was like to grow up in the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ask Daisy Head. She’s Anthony Head’s daughter — he played Rupert Giles for the entire run of the show — and she spent a significant chunk of her childhood on that set.

“I grew up on the set of Buffy. What an incredible world to be a part of,” she told the Evening Standard during press for her new film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, in which she plays the shaven-headed villain Sofina. “I just used to love being on set and just hanging out and watching the whole process. Being on set’s my favourite place to be, whether I’m filming or not.”

That love of the craft clearly took hold. Daisy Head has carved out a solid career of her own — she appeared in Netflix’s Shadow & Bone as Genya Safin and now has a major villainous role in a major franchise film. She describes herself as someone who genuinely loves “channelling her inner villainy.” Giles would presumably have some feelings about that.

On the subject of a potential Buffy remake — the rumours have been swirling for years without anything materialising — she was not difficult to persuade. “Oh my gosh, now that would be amazing,” she laughed. Fingers crossed for both of them.
