Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a photo this week showing off a new summer haircut — shorter, lighter, and according to essentially everyone who saw it, immediately evocative of a certain vampire slayer.
Hello! called it “iconic.” Yahoo Life called it “unexpected.” The fan response across social media landed somewhere between “she looks incredible” and “that is literally Buffy’s hair.”
It’s one of those things where the intention probably wasn’t Buffy-related at all — she got a summer haircut and shared it — but with 46 years of associations baked in, the internet will find the connection regardless.
She looks great. And it does, more than a little, look like Season 3 Buffy. The fans aren’t wrong.
